It is Grand Prix weekend and the weather in Montreal just sucks! It is cold and rainy. Regardless, it is time to enjoy the many festivities and hopefully take some pictures of the many exotic cars that will be present in our city. On a personal level it reminded me that I had not posted any of my pics from the classic Bike and Tattoo show. The show does have many cars on display alongside the many motorcycles and this being Grand Prix weekend it’s a perfect opportunity to post my pics.

The Classic bike and Tattooshow as usual, was a great success. Turnout was high and everyone was in a party mood. There were many vehicles to lust over as well as the occasionnal babe. Over the next couple of days, I hope to post more of my pics. One piece of advice that I would like to share is always make sure to have room on your camera’s memory card if you intend to attend a show and take pictures. It is not much fun when the memory card is full! I just needed to share that.

I spotted this modified Ford Model T in the parking lot of a Chevy parking lot. It was just gorgeous, and everyone stopped to take a good look.

Reminder: If you have any pics of a ride that you want to share, send them in. We’d love to see them!

Montreal, in the middle of summer is spectacular. There are festivals practically on every street corner. It is fun, and exciting. Makes you want to linger, absorbing the beauty and warmth. Every year, St.Catherine street is closed off to traffic and it is transformed into one large party. The stores lining the street display their wares on the sidewalk. There is food and music and street performers. The street is crowded with pedestrians enjoying the glorious summer day. And as usual there are classic cars to view probably intended to distract the males while women shop for shoes.

The movie Fast and Furious 3 was just on Spike TV.  I caught the race at the end of the film which features a 67 Mustang but with a Nissan 2.6 with twin turbos. How strange. I would have never thought of putting such an engine in a Mustang.  How odd. A Japanese engine in an American legend. I am sure that many car enthusiasts would not agree with this. Regardless, all that I can say is that: I would love to take it for a spin. Read up more on this car at this link. It’ fascinating!

Every year during the month of June, Montreal plays host to the Grand prix. During the week there are many festivities all related to the race. One such party happens in “Little Italy”. St.Laurent st. closes down and a great party takes place complete with food, music and lots of cars.
