Pic of the Day

A famous man, signing his famous name on a famous product he created!

His name is Jim Marshall, and he created the Marshall amplifier. Marshall amplifiers are synonymous with rock music. No stage was complete without a wall of Marshall amplifiers standing tall behind the musicians.

I have discovered that many car and bike guys are also musicians and I happen to be one of them. In my youth I worked at Steves Music store in Montreal. Had many great times there, met many people and have some incredible memories.

On several occasions, we were lucky enough to have Mr. Jim Marshall visit the store, hang out with the staff and sign posters, t-shirts, and amplifiers. He was truly a friendly guy.  For anyone not familiar with Jim Marshall he is the father of Marshall Amplifiers. His amplifier is to music what Harley is to motorcycles- they have their own unique sound, and they growl!!

These pics were taken on July 6, 2005.

I remember being 12-13 years old when I first saw a Honda Trail 70. It was love at first sight. I wanted one. I begged my dad to get me one but he, like most fathers, feared that I would kill myself on it. So I never got it. But oh did I want it. Years later I got to ride one in the country,  and it was everything I thought it would be. To this day every time I stumbled across one, I always stop and stare and for a moment it brings me back to that care free time in my life that I first laid eyes on it.

I want one!

While browsing through my photo archives, I stumbled upon this little gem of a picture. It’s so true that a picture is worth a thousand words! Having said that, I find that it just screams “having a good time!”.   It does not appear forced or posed for. It’s bright and summery and it just makes you smile!

Let’s go for a ride!

I was looking at this pic and thought that I should post some more from that day.I initially only published this one, because it was my favorite. These pics were taken at the 5th edition of the Moto Mondial of Montreal that took place  June 30 to July 2nd 2001. That was the last year that this event took place. It was a great event. There were car and bike shows, lots of people partying, and plenty of races to see. All this took place at circuit Gilles Villeneuve on a glorious hot Montreal weekend. It was a really good time. It is a shame that it was not profitable enough to continue happening. I decided to publish the rest of the pics, just as a reminder of that weekend.
